Questions for Readers

(If you aren’t up to date – the current update is here or you can drop an email in the comments if you need to receive installments prior to #6; if you are starting from #1, a subscription costs $5 but gets you the entire book mailed to you… if you are subscribed and are missing chapters, it means I misplaced your mail so you should contact me and say which ones you are missing! #7 will drop near the end of the month and that will wrap the digital serialization of book one. That is to say, the end is nigh; next installment is the last before the book is edited and sent off for layout for print publication.)

Due to a message I received off the blog this weekend, I am kind of curious to know how the other readers are feeling about Major Parthenos in light of his fairly heavy presence in the current episode. Has your opinion of him changed since we met him early in the book? For the better or…?

Also kind of curious about what people think about Sheriden in general, and if anyone has figured out where Wyvern is… without me having to draw a big chaotic cartoon full of elves and have you find the one with the striped sweater and the screwy black hair.

Much greater understanding of and respect for Parthenos.
Like that Sheriden is fully part of the story now, and not some never-to-be-found-when-you-might-need-him big boss.
    I think I might need a “Where’s Wyvern” comic, though :(
Please, when feasible, if feasible, character profiles for Master Thiel and Jaahyden? I don’t know why I’m so drawn to them.
I’ve really enjoyed observing how Sol has evolved from the reader’s first introduction to him (and things that havestayed consistently stayed the same about him).
And having to pause to pronounce in my head (and mouthing on silent lips) names and words in no tongue with which I am familiar, is a challenge I gleefully take up.
More next time, for certain; as you never disappoint, dear weaver of fantastically different realities.

Aha. Thanks for reminding me. I’ve had the profiles for Jady and Thiel for months, waiting until this update to post them, and totally forgot to do so.

They both have some appeal, in a scary sort of way, although differently (more mysterious, perhaps?) than Parthenos (especially considering that by chapter 17, it should be obvious to most readers that he’s not necessarily mindlessly cruel, that his harsh edges are more armor than his true personality).

Thank you for the kind words; I’ll get to scanning the profiles now. :)

No, thank YOU. Seriously. Rare these days that I become obsessed with literature that I haven’t written myself. ToH has utterly sucked me in with each installation. Excellent story and storytelling.
